Borgáta

Borgáta – the cradle of water

The quiet village is located in a rustic countryside at the foot of the Kissomolyó Hill, whose population drops in wintertime but whose spa attracts a lot of guests in the summer.  Set on a spacious green area with shady trees it is a great place suitable for all age groups to unwind. Those keen on hiking may take a walk on the slopes of the volcanic hill and visit wine-cellars. They may decide to stop at the rock where one of Hungary’s kings, Béla IV stopped (now called Királykő – Kings’ Stone) when fleeing from the Mongols in the 13th century.  At that time it was a plate-like rock formation filled with water, which was blown up by a grenade during WWII. Water is one thing visitors will not find here but they can quench their thirst with splendid white and red wines.

Borgáta welcomes its guests with thermal water, wine and a great deal of hospitality.
